About the Artwork

Seen from behind, a woman floats in deep turquoise water, her dark hair streaming upward toward the light and her white dress unfolding around her in soft, weightless folds. Sprays of magenta and purple orchid-like blooms drift beside her — one stem curling near her hand, petals scattered through the water — their saturated colour glowing against the blue-green depths. Dappled light breaks across her shoulders and arms in thick, sculptural impasto, each stroke laid like a tile of moving water. There is no shore and no surface line, only the quiet suspension of the figure among the flowers. In a tall vertical format it suits bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms with coastal or contemporary schemes. Each piece is hand-painted and hand-finished to order, so its currents and blossoms will be subtly its own.
